I have tried Chimera and the 'ATI eperimental,' bootloaders, but not the ATI one since I got the graphics working at all. I'm trying iBoot and Slow Leopard 10.6.0 on my 4850-27EU (vanilla, no added video card). It installs, but reboots at the very end (with no prompt.) I can get to the desktop, copy and start Multiboot, then launch 10.6.8 combo update. Toward the end of the 10.6.8 update, I get a kernel panic. (Rebooting shows the system is hosed.) Can't boot from 10.7.2 ESD either for a clean install (it reboots right away) so I might try installing 10.6.0 and then doing 10.7.2 over that.

My monitor is 1366x768, but displays just fine. Even 3D is supported as the OpenGL screensavers run without as much a single hiccup. Please note that the integrated video konks out after installing Multibeast with EasyDSDT, but I have an nVidia 550Ti that I installed AFTER installing Multibeast, at which point I get 1024x768 resolution. ('About This Mac' shows all CPU and RAM information accurately.) After installing Lion, without any 3rd party tweaks, I get 1366x768 and clearly with 3D acceleration. So the 550Ti seems to be supported at some level. I now need to replace the two 4GB modules I removed, since SL's installation kept crashing.

Shutdown, then reinstalled the card. Upon rebooting, the card was nowhere to be found. Did a bit of research and found that the drivers are from Ralink.
