While it isn’t the most scientific of tests, we did drop the drive a couple of times (ok, 20 or more times but who’s counting) a couple of feet from our desk and while the plastic parts do get beat-up a bit, the rubber jacket does a good job protecting the main body from the shock of the drop. In closing, the StoreJet 100 was quite a surprising solution making its way through testing. We achieved great performance in both of our tested operating systems and had no issues with the drive, even after dropping it on purpose while the platters were still spinning.
